She gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.” (Luke 2:7)
“This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” (Luke 2:12)
So for context all the little pretty Nativity scenes in our society don’t paint a very accurate picture. This is a pic in Bethlehem in a “barn” of sorts. This is where our whole Christmas tradition culminates. In a dirty, filthy, stone cave and stone manger. I say this to remind us that Christmas isn’t without its ugliness and suffering, but it’s the revealing of a promise. A promise that the pain and suffering has a end date. For unto us a savior is born. He came and OVERCAME, which means in Him you are an overcomer. Merry Christmas from GodzGeneral..
