FINANCIAL EDUCATION: THE SECRET TO WEALTH

A success that will go to the future. At the sunny afternoon of Sunday, 29th December, 2019 in the curvaceous area of Usi Ekiti, Ekiti state at the 3:30 PM Nigerian timezone.The program started with the registration of the attendees, followed by an opening prayer said by Funmilayo Olanrewaju.

The moderator, blessing Omowaye introduced to the audience the convener of the event.The convener of the event, Olatomide Awoyomi gave the opening speech about why we are here, why financial education is necessary for financial success, and emphasized on the goal of financial education for making people’s money work hard for them and not the other way out.

One minute silence was given in respect of our own person, Kehinde Dada, who we lost over two months ago in a student protest in Federal University of Oye Ekiti.
It was preceded by the first talk of the program, delivered by Ayodeji Ibitola, he spoke about education, how it relates and can improve our finance.
He said focusing on application of every bit one learns to become a problem solver and value giver is essential for financial freedom, added that it will be if the country educational system can embrace the habit of teaching applications before theories to serve as motivation for student and give them reason to be more serious about it.

Funmilayo Ajayi came on board for the second talk, speaking about financial education, she emphasised on budgeting, having assets and liabilities for financial freedom.
She further said the better way to have financial freedom is to cultivate the habit of having expenditures lower than our incomes.
The third talk was about entrepreneurship and investment given by Ademola Adefemi, during the talk he made it known clearly that the best investment is investing in oneself, he added networking is a tool one should utilize to augment any enterprise or investment.

There was interview session anchored by Olajide Dada with Ayodeji Adetona, The CEO of Eminent wears, Adeoye Segun  and Ayodeji Ibitola where they took us through their entrepreneurship journey, their challenges and wins.
Adebayo Afolabi gave a talk about the productivity; harnessing the social media, he provided some tips on how to use our social media productively and make money.

The host himself, olatomide Awoyomi spoke about money, how to make money by giving values, he illustrated it better with the millionaire’s formula.

There was Q/A session where a lot of questions bordering the mind of the participants was justified.
The chatroom ended with a closing remark by Oluwadamilola Aina, followed by a closing prayer.
Succeeded by a networking session, pleasantries and photo session.
