Smartphones are basically a computer in your pocket with a lot of features to make your life easier. It turns out that there are so many cool things you can do with Android phone that you probably don’t even know. From Priority Mode feature to custom icon packs, PushBullet, smart lock system, there is plenty to keep you happy for a while. And as necessity is the mother of all inventions, everything is possible but only if you can pursue it. So to help you get the most out of your phone.

here are cool things or tricks that you can do with your Android phone.

1.Type by swiping
Gesture typing allows you to compose messages by dragging your finger from letter to letter, which is super convenient if you've only got one hand to spare. It's available through Google keyboard (which you can download for free in Google Play), though the default Samsung keyboard offers the gliding function as well, albeit without the floating previews.

2.facial recognition lock
To set it up, go to Settings > Security > Screen Lock and choose Face Unlock (for Galaxy devices: Settings > Lock Screen > Screen Lock > Face Unlock), and then snap a photo and you're good to go. You can also set a backup PIN or take multiple shots for improving facial recognition, and if you're worried that some mastermind might unlock your phone using just a picture of you, you can set a "Presence Check," which requires you to blink.

3.Add and Remove Items From the Homescreens
When you first turn on your Android smartphone; there’s stuff every where,It can be very intimidating.
That’s why one of the first things you need to learn is how to declutter your homescreens.
To remove an item from your homescreen:
Long-Press (press and hold) on it until you see X Remove up at the top of the screen
Drag the icon up to the X Remove
Lift your finger
Don’t worry this does not uninstall the app.
Its simply removes the item from your homescreen so you can make room for the stuff you want to use.
To Add an App shortcut or widget to one of your homescreen panels
Locate the App or Widget in your App Drawer
Long-Press (press and hold) on it until your homescreen panel appears
Drag the icon to where you want it
Lift your finger from the screen
To move an item to another homescreen panel:
Long-Press on the icon and drag it to the very edge of the screen
Do not lift your finger just yet – the homescreen panel will rotate.
Keep going to the edge of each homescreen until you get to the homescreen panel you wish to place the icon.
Then lift your finger.

4.Turn your photos and recordings into a movie

Phones running Android 4.3 and up have the ability to automatically create short films by editing together videos and photos you have stored on your device. The process is a bit more convoluted than the other tips, but the outcome is so much fun that it's worth exploring. First, go into the Google+ app and turn on Auto Backup from settings, so that every photo you take with your phone will be automatically saved in a private folder on Google+. Then, along the top of the "Photos" section, click on the little video camera icon. From there you can choose whichever photos or videos you'd like to turn into a movie, alter the theme, style, and background music, and Google+ does the rest.

5.Setup Security
The more you use your Android Smartphone the more you going to want to use it for.
This means that you might end up carrying around some personal information that would not be good if it fell into the wrong hands – that sounded like an intro to a Liam Neeson movie.
The newer versions of the Android Operating System have a number of way to lock down your phone.
*4 digit pin
*Password
*Facial Recognition
And a few even have built in fingerprint scanners
but before you delve into figuring out how to setup the security features.

It takes less than a minute to do.

It allows you to locate your device by turning on the ringer to full volume. Use this if you know its around the house somewhere. Even if its on silent or vibrate Android Device Manager will make your phone ring so you can find it.

If you’re sure you phone was stolen you can remotely wipe everything off of it. Or lock it down so no one can use it.

So before you move on to anything else. Here’s the link for setting up Android Device Manager. Go do this!

6.Access Chrome tabs from other devices
As long as you’re logged into Chrome when you launch a new tab, you’ll see the ‘Recent tabs’ option at the bottom right. Tap this to see the URLs that are open on your other logged-in devices and quickly access any of them.

7.If found, return to
This is another great feature for anyone with a tendency to misplace their phones. If your phone gets lost and you suspect it has been picked up by someone, you can put a message on the lock screen, telling the finder of your phone how to get in contact with you.
You can achieve the same thing with Android Device Manager if you’ve already lost your phone, but the option can be done in advance as a safety measure. Go to Settings > Security > Lock screen message to add your phone number, email or return instructions.

8.Double as a Wi-Fi hotspot.
If you're in a Wi-Fi jam, you can turn your Android into a portable hotspot. Just go into Settings > Wireless and networks > Tethering and portable hotspot and set up Mobile Hotspot (for Samsung: Settings > More networks > Tethering and portable hotspot). Be aware, though, that whether you're using your device or a laptop tethered to it, it's all coming from your data plan.

9.Install & Uninstall Apps
Your Android Smartphone comes with some incredible features built right into the OS.
Things like Google Now, Google Maps, Voice/Speech Recognition, and so many others.
But lets face it; people love their smartphones because of the Apps.
Apps allow you to tailor your smartphone into a tool that works best for the things you want it to do.
If you’re a budding photographer then you will probably end up with lots of photo editing apps.
If you’re a social butterfly you’ll probably end up with all the social networking apps on your phone.
Into a specific sport or team. There’s plenty of Apps to support your addiction.
Uninstalling an app that came on your device or that your just not using is really easy:
Open the App Drawer
Locate the App you want to remove
Long-Press on it
Drag it to the Uninstall menu option that appears
Lift your finger
Installing an App is not much harder.
First however, you must setup a Google Play account. Because Google Play is where all the Apps are.
You can do it on your device by tapping on the Google Play icon
or you can go to http://Play.Google.com in your favorite browser.
You’ll need a Gmail account to setup Google Play .
Once you’re done setting it up. Start browsing.
There are literally hundreds of thousands of great Apps in the Google Play Store .

10.Remote lock or wipe your lost phone
There’s not much worse than losing your phone. Apart from losing your phone, knowing that someone might have access to your data is even worse and downright dangerous. But Google has an awesome feature called ‘Android Device Manager’ that lets you track and take control of your phone if you ever lose it.
As long as ADM is activated, you can ring your phone, remotely lock it or even factory reset it if you know you’re never getting it back. To enable Android Device Manager, go to Settings > Security > Device Administrators and access the site on your computer if you ever lose your phone.

11.Unlock a hidden animation.
Just go to Settings > About Device, tap on "Android version" until an image shows up (a "K" in Android 4.4. KitKat), and then hold down on that image until the animation begins. In KitKat, you can press down on the red Kit Kat-style Android logo for an even more fun tiled animation.

12.Use Speech to Text to Create Text Messages
Typing on those teeny-tiny virtual keyboards is a down right Pain In The Arse.
Isn’t it funny how if you say a curse word using a foreign accent; then its not a curse word any more. Love that!
Google realized that typing on virtual keyboards on a 4 1/2 inch screen is difficult. That’s why they’ve spent billions mastering speech recognition on your Android Smartphone.
Did you know:Google created the core software that runs your smartphone. They named that software Android. So you’re using an Android Smartphone who’s core software is owned by Google.
Everyone, and I mean everyone uses this tip once I’ve shown them how easy it is.
The more you use speech recognition on your phone the better it understandings you.
Voice recognition is available all over your Android Smartphone. Just look for the microphone icon on the keyboard.
At the very least; use it to create your text messages. You’ll be so glad you did.
BTW, did I tell you that speech recognition even understands punctuation and smiley faces. Learn this feature. AND LOVE IT!

13.Try Push bullet
Copying and pasting URLs is so old fashioned now. Install PushBullet to push links on your phone to your tablet, from your PC to your phone or from your phone to all of your other devices. Pushbullet also notifies you of SMS or calls on your PC and you can transfer files between all of your devices with Pushbullet too.

14.How To Use the Touchscreen
Most smartphones on the market today have large high-resolution touch screens. Many of the top phones come with 2 physical buttons – the volume control and the Power button. That means all the interaction with your device – is through the touchscreen. Honestly, that’s more than sufficient. If you know what to do.
Using the touchscreen and the Spread & Pinch gestures, you can zoom in and out on pictures, websites, and even Google Maps.
The Spread & Pinch gesture can even make the font larger in Text and Email messages making them much easier to read.
Scroll up and down through long lists like Contacts, Photo Gallery, Song list. This works on long webpages and through your Facebook and Instagram Feeds.
Swipe left and right through multiple screens or through all the pictures in your Gallery App.
Open sub-menus or unlock additional functionality like multi-select with the Long-Press .

It won’t take more than a couple of minutes to learn them all. So get started. It’ll make using your Android Smartphone much easier
Well, that sums it up. Learn to do these few things first and you’ll be a Smartphone Guru in no time.
Just be careful because your friends and family will be asking you for phone support everytime they see you.
I’m on a mission to help others just like you learn to use and love their Android Smartphones.

Foods are nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink or that plants absorb in order to maintain life and growth.
Food makes your body work, grow and repair itself. The kind of food you eat can affect the efficiency of these processes. Body function and the food that sustains it is infinitely complex. Food is in fact one of the most complicated sets of chemicals imaginable.
Getting to know which nutrients are in which foods can help you to understand something of this complex relationship between your food and your body.
Food is composed of many different chemical substances - 'macronutrients' (major nutritional components that are present in relatively large amounts, such as protein), 'micronutrients' (major nutritional components that are present in relatively small amounts, such as vitamins), water, and roughage (dietary fibre). Many other components can also be present in food.
Food may contain colours (natural and synthetic), flavours, pharmacologically active substances (such as caffeine, steroids, and salicylates, which chemically affect the body), natural toxicants (naturally occurring poisons, such as cyanide),
additives , and various contaminants (substances resulting from a contaminated environment, such as pesticides). Even characteristic flavours such as those of oranges and passionfruit can depend on the presence of a dozen or more chemicals.
The chemical nature of food is changed by storage, preservation and, especially, by cooking. Food chemicals can also interact amongst themselves within the body. For example, the availability to the body of iron from plant sources depends on the amount of vitamin C present in the food eaten. The way in which carbohydrate is absorbed from the bowel depends to some extent on the presence of dietary fibre, even though the fibre itself is not absorbed.
We all want to look younger and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles without having to spend a fortune. Cosmetic products that are made with superfoods are a great option for antiaging, but eating the actual superfoods has also proven to be just as effective.Other foods that also make you look younger include tomatoes, oranges and avocados.

Did you ever wonder which form of fruit gives you more nutrition – whole fruits or fruit juices? It is actually difficult to say which one gives more nutrition. Although eating whole fruit is considered to be the best way of attaining the full benefits of fruits, fruit juices are also easy and healthy options. Of course, if the fruit juice is composed of 100% fruit without extra preservatives or additives, then it has the same nutritional value.
Normally fruit juices are available in two forms, 100% fruits juices and as fruit pulp + water +
sugar . In both cases, preservatives and additives are added to increase the shelf life of the juice. Very few brands contain no preservatives. In fact, fruit juices are considered to be the best way of incorporating nutrition into your child’s diet, as they usually love anything that tastes good. Buying and drinking fruit juices is much easier than buying whole fruits, cutting and then eating them. In other words, it’s better to drink the juice than to have no fruit in your diet at all.
When you make fruit juice at home, they contain the same fiber content as whole fruits, provided you don’t add any artificial flavors and preservatives. However, if bought from the store, these juices may not have the equal fiber content after the vigorous processing. Moreover, when you consume those types of juices, extra sweeteners and additives are added, which is not the case for whole fruits. Thus, with whole fruits, you can keep your weight controlled. When you make fruit juice at home, try to add the edible skin of the fruits to the juice to gain even more nutritional value.
You have probably come across the term “seasonal fruits”, and as a matter of fact, most fruits are considered seasonal. They grow in a particular season depending on their native geography and climate. You may be able to get these fruits throughout the year, but they have usually been in a frozen state for a varying amount of time. Eating seasonal fruits during the season ensures that they are fresh. Furthermore, most seasonal fruits can also ward off the disorders that come with the season. For example, in India , green mangoes are quite useful for dealing with the heat of summer. Including seasonal fruits in your diet is a delicious and natural way to stay healthy!!!

The benefit of Eating a Lot of fruits?

1.Help Prevent Heart Disease:
The vitamins, minerals and antioxidants in fruit may help keep your heart healthy so you can reduce your risk of problems as you get older. Walter Willett reports in his book "Eat, Drink and Be Healthy: The Harvard Medical School Guide to Eating Healthy" that individuals who eat five servings of fruits or vegetables are 15 percent less likely to have a heart attack. Fruit may also promote the healthy circulation of your blood, which also reduces your risk of heart disease. Willett adds that citrus fruits, such as oranges and grapefruit, may be particularly beneficial at reducing your risk of heart disease.

2.Cut Your Risk of Diabetes:
diabetes affects many people and is characterized by an inability to use insulin the proper way or your body not being able to produce sufficient amounts of insulin. Type 2 diabetes can be life-threatening if not diagnosed and treated.we notes that eating a diet rich in fruit may reduce your risk of developing diabetes. Fruit contains many different nutrients that your body needs to maintain your health and eating several servings a day may cut your risk by providing you with the vitamins and minerals you need.

3.Prevent Many Other Conditions:
The protective benefits that the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants in fruits offer span many different medical conditions that can decrease your health and quality of life. GodzGeneral notes that the potassium in fruit may reduce your chances of developing kidney stones and may help prevent bone loss. A diet rich in fruit can also help lower your blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

It’s advised to eat fruits in the whole form, including their skin if it is edible, in order to gain the benefits of high fibrous content present in them. This promotes healthy digestion and prevents constipation.
The maximum nutritional value in fruits can be derived when eaten raw. Cooked or preserved fruits usually lose some of their important nutrients due to high heat and extended shelf life, respectively. Thus, fresh fruits are the most advantageous for your diet.
Never eat fruits along with your main meal; this can result in severe acidity and digestive problem because fruits are usually mildly acidic in nature. Always eat fruits before or after your meals, leaving an hour or two of separation.
It is always recommended to eat fruit on an empty stomach, or at least after a relatively light meal. Fruits on an empty stomach help to delay graying of hair, nervous outbursts, dark circles under the eyes, and balding.
Never drink water immediately after having fruits as it can result in high acidity.
Fruits should be eaten in the morning, as this helps in detoxification and also aids in weight loss . Although these benefits can be gained by eating fruits at any time during the day, morning is said to be the ideal time for them to have their greatest effect.
Try not to keep fruits in very hot or very cold places, this reduces their shelf life – a moderate, dry, cool temperature is suggested for storage.

Congratulations! If you are reading this, you have taken the first step to treat razor bumps- also called as razor burn, ingrown hair or psuedofolliculitis barbae. This troublesome skin problem is typically faced by African American men, post shaving. However, according to a recent survey conducted by the International Dermatological Institute, nearly 79% men who shave suffer from some kind of skin infections including razor bumps. These shaving problems not only look ugly; they actually lead to premature aging of the skin. Even women who shave their arms, legs or bikini areas are known to suffer from ingrown hair which can cause severe pain and burning. In this guide, we will study natural remedies to help you get rid of razor bumps painlessly and quickly.
But before that,
Razor bumps are very common skin lesions for those who remove unwanted hair on their body by shaving or waxing. They usually develop in areas such as the pubic area, bikini area, bikini line, on vagina or vaginal lips, on neck on face and in armpits Razor bumps can be itchy and painful, but more significantly, they may look very unsightly, especially when they develop on your face. Worse still, they often leave behind hideous scars which may stay on for quite a while. But what causes razor bumps and how can you get rid and prevent them fast or overnight after shaving? What are the best effective treatments and home remedies for razor bump?

What Are Razor Bumps?
Razor bumps, also called shave bumps, shaving bumps or Pseudofolliculitis Barbae , refers to a persistent irritation of the skin caused by shaving. They are usually characterized by an inflamed skin with usually itchy, painful bumps, pus, discoloration and sometimes keloidal scars.
Razor bumps on neck
Razor bumps can occur in any part of the skin where hair is temporarily removed by shaving, waxing or tweezing. However, they tend to develop more in sensitive skin areas such as the
pubic area, bikini area, bikini line , on vagina or vaginal lips, on face , on neck and in armpits (underarm). Razor bumps are also common on thighs, on legs, and on head, especially along the hairline.
Razor bumps are formed when hairs coil within or curl back to the skin causing your body to perceive them as foreign material. As a result, the body produces an inflammatory response leading to the formation of the bumps. Due to various reasons, including nature of hair and skin, some people are more susceptible to razor bumps than others.

What Causes Razor Bumps After Shaving?
The best way to deal with razor bumps is to understand what causes them and how they develop. This way, you will know exactly what to do in order to prevent the development or treat the already formed razor bumps.
Basically, razor bumps are caused when the shaved hair grows beneath the skin and this can happen in various ways. In some cases, the growing hair gets trapped and grows under the skin partially or wholly to form an ingrown hair , which leads to the development of bumps
Razor bumps are lesions caused by ingrown hair
The bump may also arise if the ingrown hair gets infected to form an ingrown hair cyst , which is usually a deep-seated bump. In other cases, it is formed when the growing hair is not trapped within its hair follicle but rather curls and digs back into the nearby part of the skin.
There are various reasons why hair gets trapped and grow beneath the skin. Most of them relate to the way the shaving is carried out while others are influenced by the nature of your hair or skin. Here are common reasons why hair may be trapped and grow under the skin leading to the development of razor bumps:
1. Tugging and Pulling the Hair While Shaving:
When the hair is tugged and pulled during shaving, the hair follicle and the skin around the hair becomes irritated. As a result, it will slightly swell and cover the cut hair under the skin. This may lead to an ingrown hair since the hair may be unable to sprout out of the skin.
Tugging and pulling of hair occurs when you use a blunt razor or a shaver with blunt blades. Some multiple blade shavers may also increase the risk of tugging and pulling as the hair is likely to get trapped between the blades. In addition, lack of proper preparation before shaving for example failure to soften the hair with a shaving cream may cause tugging and pulling.
2. Cutting the Hair Beneath the Skin When Shaving
This is another common reason why razor bumps form. If the hair is cut too close to the skin such that the level goes slightly under the skin, there are chances that the hair may curl within the hair follicle and cause a bump. Another possibility is that the dead skin and skin secretions may accumulate and block the hair within the hair follicle, forcing it to curl within as it grows.
3. Pulling at the Skin While Shaving
Poor shaving methods may also lead to the formation of razor bumps. For example, if you forcefully drag the razor or shaver along the skin as you shave, you certainly pull the ski along with the razor. When you release the razor, the skin pops back over the hairs that you just cut. As a result, they may grow into your skin and cause the development of razor bumps.
Also, if too much pressure is applied on the skin while shaving, it may irritate the skin, especially if the skin is sensitive. As a result, the hair might get trapped in beneath the skin and hence lead to the development of razor bumps
4. Nature of Your Hair
The nature of your hair is another factor that may not only contribute to the development of razor bumps but also influence the severity of the razor bumps. If your hair is curly, it is more likely to coil within the hair follicle or burrow into the nearby skin, causing the razor bumps.

Similarly, if your hair texture is hard and course, it is more likely to get tugged and pulled during shaving. As aired explained in an earlier section above, tugging and pulling may lead to the formation of razor bumps.
Probably, this is one of the reasons why some people tend to develop razor bumps more than others. The more cully and coarse the hair, the more likely that bumps will form and that they will be more severe.
5. Nature of Your Skin
The nature of your skin is definitely another factor that may influence the development of razor bumps and how severe they will be. For example, a sensitive skin is likely to be irritated more during shaving. Since, one of the effects of irritating the skin while shaving is the development of bumps, they are likely to be more and severe for sensitive skins.

Fastest Ways To Get Rid of Razor Bumps or
Bikini Bumps…
1. Don't shave for at least 2-to-3 days to give your razor bumps a chance to heal & go away and if you must shave… Use a Depilatory Cream or waxing for hair removal to prevent razor bumps.
2. Apply heat on your razor bumps for 5-to-10 minutes using a hot compress or washrag soaked in hot water to shrink the razor bumps and kill any germs that could make your razor bumps look worse.
3. Put hydrocortisone cream on your razor bumps to get rid of the redness, inflammation and the itching and once your razor bumps fade away in 1-to-3 days… Stop using the hydrocortisone cream because your skin may develop rashes if you use it too much.
4. Wear cotton underwear or breathable clothing because wearing clothes made out of synthetic materials wont allow your skin to breathe and this will also trap in bacteria & sweat making your razor bumps get worse.
5. Don't pick your razor bumps and don't rub the areas of your skin with razor bumps because when you do that you just slow down the healing process where your razor bumps eventually fade away.
6. Put cornstarch on your razor bumps for 20 minutes and then rinse it off.
7. You can use a cucumber and milk mask by mixing ½ a pureed cucumber and a ¼ cup of milk and then letting it cool in your refrigerator and then you would apply this to your razor bumps for 10-to-20 minutes and rinse it off.
8. Use razor bump removal products like Razor Bump Relief
that have witch hazel & salicylic acid as the main ingredients.
9. Use aloe vera or Tea Tree Oil
creams & sprays like Tendskin to help you get rid of razor bumps faster.
10. Prevention Is The Best Cure

Vitamin D has long been valued for its role in preventing rickets and building strong bones. Vitamin D has also been associated with the prevention and treatment of diabetes, cancer, osteoarthritis and immune system disorders. The latest research shows that vitamin D is also beneficial in preventing heart disease.
A growing number of studies support the idea that low levels of vitamin D are linked to an increased risk of heart disease, and that adding vitamin D supplements can help reduce this risk. Several large trials to learn more about this connection are underway, although there is not yet any conclusive evidence.
Vitamin D helps protect our bones and muscles. A deficiency leads to softening of the bones (rickets or osteomalacia). It has also been suggested that low levels of vitamin D could be linked to chronic diseases such as cancer, multiple sclerosis and heart and circulatory disease . The BHF has funded
research in this area .

Vitamin D and heart failure

Heart failure is a serious, potentially life-threatening condition, wherein the heart is unable to pump sufficient blood and oxygen to nourish the tissues of the body. In 2009, around 1 in 9 deaths in the United States "included heart failure as contributing cause."
And because heart failure is so common, understanding exactly what is involved physiologically is important. Due to the recent evidence that vitamin D might protect against heart failure, scientists are keen to get a clearer understanding of the relationship.
Although the benefits of vitamin D for heart health are becoming well-established, the mechanisms at work are not understood. Recently, a team of researchers from Westmead Institute for Medical Research in Australia decided to take a closer look.
The benefits of vitamin D are becoming increasingly known, but we still don't fully understand how, mechanistically, it can help with heart disease management. We wanted to know more about how vitamin protects the heart after a heart attack."
Lead researcher Prof. James Chong
To dig into this problem, the scientists used a mouse model and a form of vitamin D called 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1,25D), which "interacts with hormones." They wanted to understand how 1,25D affected an important set of heart cells.
The cells of interest to the team are known as cardiac colony-forming unit fibroblasts (cCFU-Fs), and they are responsible for forming scar tissue following a heart attack.

Getting an edge on heart failure

A heart attack occurs when the supply of blood to the heart is stopped. And, because no oxygen is reaching sections of the tissue, they become damaged, which triggers inflammation in the region. In the inflamed tissue, cCFU-Fs begin to replace damaged cells with "collagen-based scar tissue."
As Chong explains, "This is a problem because scarring of heart tissue can reduce the heart's ability to pump blood effectively, which can lead to heart failure."
The team found that vitamin D was able to block the action of cCFU-Fs, thereby preventing the buildup of scar tissue and potentially stopping a blockage from developing.
Their results are published this week in the journal Heart Lung and Circulation.
On the importance of the results, Chong explains, "Cardio vascular diseases, including heart attacks and heart failure, are the leading cause of death worldwide."
"To change this, we need to research heart conditions from every possible angle. This study is the first to demonstrate the role of 1,25D in regulating cardiac progenitor cells, and the findings are encouraging. With further study, vitamin D could prove to be an exciting, low-cost addition to current treatments, and we hope to progress these findings into clinical trials for humans."
So, although research into vitamin D and its cardio protective powers is in its infancy, the results are encouraging. Finding any intervention that improves the chances of battling heart disease is good news, and finding one that is readily available is an added bonus.

So what does this mean for our diets ?

During spring and summer eating a healthy, balanced diet and getting out in the sunshine for short periods should be all we need to get enough vitamin D. But if you don’t eat many foods that contain vitamin D, consider taking a supplement in autumn and winter. Vitamin D is found naturally in oily fish , red meat, liver and egg yolks , and is added to foods like breakfast cereals and fat spreads. A 140g piece of baked salmon contains 10.2 micrograms, a bowl of fortified brand lakes has 1.5 micrograms and an egg has 1.9 micrograms,which also helps in increasing your reading ability(click here to read more on how to increase your reading ability);
Some people don’t get out in the sun, even in spring and summer, or always cover their skin when they do. If this is you, a vitamin D supplement throughout the year might be advisable. If you’re not sure, talk to your doctor or dietitian.

Several injured as FUOYE students, Okada riders clash over transport fare METRO
No fewer than 20 people were injured when students of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) and commercial motorcyclists, some of whom were said to be indigenes of the community, engaged themselves in a free for all, on Tuesday.
Sources in the community told GodzGeneral in Ado Ekiti that trouble had started when a student and a commercial motorcyclist had an altercation over fare, which degenerated.

A source said “the commercial biker slapped the student and that led to a fight between them, which other students latched into”.
The source claimed that “it was as a result of the anger bottled by the students over what they see as their exploitation by the commercial motorcyclists and sundry business operators in the community.”
The clash was said to have exacerbated when the commercial motorcyclists were said to have mobilised against the students, who were also not ready to just be cowed.
The injured students were treated at the university’s health centre and were discharged.
The incident left some of the students stranded after they had rounded off their lecture because of the tension created by the clashes in the town.
Speaking on the incident, the Public Relations Officer of FUOYE, Mr. godfre Bagji, said explained that it was “a clash between some of our students and commercial motorcyclists,” saying “it was an incident that happened instantaneously outside the campus.”
On the seriousness of the injuries sustained by the affected students, Bagji said “by the time I got to the health centre, the injured students had been treated and they had left.”
He said it was not “really a students versus indigenes matter but students and commercial motorcyclists and we must know that many of the cyclists are not even indigenes of the town.”

Students of the Ekiti State University have been expressing their disappointment over their lecturers' indefinite strike, which started on Tuesday, January 16, 2018.
It's been six straight weeks of no academic activities in the institution as lecturers vow to continue the industrial action until the government pay the eight-month salaries it's owing them.
The situation is already taking its toll on the students, as freshmen who just gained admission into the school are becoming restless while final year students are getting frustrated over the lecturers' strike.
The university students have been reacting to the endless strike and some of them who spoke with
GodzGeneral correspondent expressed their worries and frustration about the situation.
A 100-level undergraduate of the Department of Theatre and Media Arts, Ifeoluwa Sanusi said, “ I have just got admitted and had been hopeful for a very busy and challenging learning experience. but then the school was shut down on January 16, and we have been here doing nothing. Efforts to read on our own have been boring and unchallenging, as there is no lecturer to guide you ."
Another 100-level student of the Department of English and Literary Studies, Maryan Ayodele said, “This strike is not good for us, especially those of us that are still freshmen. We are not happy because we are being delayed for no fault of ours. We are even losing confidence in the system. We appeal to the government to urgently heed the lecturers’ demand. They should just find a way and solve this problem once and for all and on time too. The campus has become a ghost town and everyone has left''
Begging the government and the lecturers, a 300 level student of the university said both parties should find a solution.
“ This strike is just delaying me and my future. I want both the teachers and the government to urgently find a solution to the crisis and let us resume for lectures.”
However, while many students appealed to both parties to find a lasting solution to the problem, others put the blame on the Governor Ayo Fayose administration’s failure to pay salaries.
One of such student is a 200 level undergraduate simply identified as Oluwaseun , who said the lecturers should not be blamed for the strike.
He said, “We learnt that our lecturers are on strike to demand some understanding from the government on the reduction of taxes that the government imposed on their salaries, and which they didn’t like. The lecturers also want the government to pay their outstanding salaries for eight months.
''We learnt that there is this disagreement over how many months should first be paid. I think the government is offering less than five months, which is what the lecturers want. For us as students, we would rather pitch our tents with the lecturers because they are also parents and have their own children and other responsibilities to take care of''.(click here to read more about the students reaction about the ongoing strike action);
You will recall that the the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof Samuel Oye Bandele had
warned students who are cult members to quit the institution before they are caught.
Source can confirm that there will be asuu eksu congress today march 8 and we hope good result comes out from it..

The Bible is the most widely read book in the history of mankind, we’re pretty sure. The Good Book has been the cornerstone for one of the largest religions on the planet and it deserves to be read by just about everyone, regardless of their spirituality. The Bible is thousands of years old and contains numerous stories, parables, and guidelines for its followers to follow. Since this is a sensitive topic, GodzGeneral will outline some sections that are forbidden in the Bible but people still do in this modern era,but nevertheless, you be the judge.

1.Lying and cheating
Leviticus 19:11 "Do not steal. "Do not deceive or cheat one another."

2.having sex before marriage
There’s no point in listing one of the countless chapters and verses in the Bible that states premarital sex is a sin. That’s a fundamental Christian belief so there you go.

3.No alcohol
People probably don't do this anywhere oh wait
Leviticus 10:9 “Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die.”

4.Being gay and stuff
Leviticus 18:22 reads:
“Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”
Translation: You can be the most kind-hearted, the most generous, the most helpful, the best Christian who won’t commit any of the other sins included in the Bible but your sexual preference makes you an illegal alien . . . from heaven, that is.

5.Gossiping
Leviticus 19:16 reads:
“Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbor; I am the LORD.”
Translation: Say what you wanna say about your fat friend or bald-headed boss right to their face.

6.Getting remarried after getting divorced
Mark 10:11–12 reads:
“Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.”
Translation: I truly feel sorry for Elizabeth Taylor right now.

7.Tearing your clothes
Leviticus 10:6 reads:
“And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled.”

8.pleasing yourself
1 Corinthians 6:18 reads:
“Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.”
Translation: Jim Levenstein from American Pie doesn’t seem to be so stupid all of a sudden, huh? Dude knew how to do his thing and at the same time avoid sin, too.

9.Tattoos
You know that cute little tattoo you got in college? Or how about the tattoo you got to commemorate a lost loved one? Well, Leviticus 19:28 explains, “You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.” And no, it doesn’t matter if you donate to charity, it is a sin.

10.Consulting Psychics or spiritualist
Leviticus 19:31 reads:
“Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.”
Translation: Truth be told, the idiots who spend a fortune getting “advice” from such con artists deserve whatever they get.

11.Working on Sunday
Exodus 31:14–15 reads:
“Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.”

12.Wives helping out their husbands in a fight
Deuteronomy 25:11–12 reads:
“When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets.”

13.The Bible condemns the shedding of innocent life.
Few people would argue this point. The Bible clearly prohibits taking the life of an innocent person. It follows that if the developing baby is a “qualified” member of the human race, all of these scriptures apply:
Genesis 9:6 – Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood shall be shed, for in the image of God He made man.
Exodus 20:13 – You shall not murder.

GodzGeneral says Timothy 3:16 reads that “all Scripture is God-breathed, and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
Every Christian should know the facts and their Christian heritage, and be ready to defend what the Bible really does say about this things listed above. And we should pray that God will change the hearts of those promoting the genocide of our nation.

The first ever online seminar organized by the 300lv student of the department of computer science through a group called ICON ACADEMY
Mr Tope Akintayo is a motivational speaker, a web developer, and also the founder of icubed initiative (A platform set to help people on effective public speaking). We know very little about this man but we have benefited alot from him
Mr tayo talk a lot about excellent mind shift
He said as follow:
I mean you're a group of 300 level computer science students of Ekiti state university(click here to read on what student are saying about the ongoing strike at the school); right? And the youngest amongst you must be above 20 years of age by now.
So you've definitely heard a whole lot of things since your birth and the probability that you've heard anything I'm saying tonight is 50%.
But there's also one other thing I'm very sure of.
Just as I'm sure that you've probably heard what I'm going to say tonight, I'm also very sure that even though you've heard these words, you've never taken time to live them.
You've heard, and even said, but you've never acted.
And that right there is exactly why you're presently where you are.
So tonight I'll implore you, even if you won't do anything else, make sure that you make the decision to take practical steps towards anything that's said. And I assure you that you'll start to see results.
Let's start by reviewing the definition of excellence. Can someone tell me what they understand by excellence?

Tomide awoyemi a student of computer science explain what he understood by Excellence
He said "Excellence for me is standing out"

Mr tayo continue by explaining what excellence is
From the dictionary above, we can see the underlined word High Degree. Before something can be termed as excellent it must have been rendered in high degree.Compared to its pairs.
You all probably have brilliant definitions of excellence in your vocabulary and so I won't stress pointlessly.
Now, there's this equation that I came up with earlier today as I was preparing for this seminar. I'll call it: an equation showing the relationship between excellence and effort.
Excellence is directly proportional to investment (excellence = investment).
Have you heard of ROI? If you're the business savvy or a general lover of knowledge you'll probably know what ROI is.
It means Return on Investment. That is what did the profit that you'll get after investing a particular amount of resources. A good business person would always compare their ROI to the investment just to ensure that they are not making loss instead of profit.Well, we are not talking about business here, although the principles we'll talk about can well be applied to business. In short they can be applied in all areas of life.
The point here is that your level of excellence is dependent on your level of investment. And what do I mean by investment? Am I talking about financial investment? Not exactly. There are several kinds of investment that do not have anything to do with finance. Some investments are even way better than monetary investment because in the long run they'll eventually yield even more money than you can imagine.
Talk about investment of effort and investment of time. When these investments are rightly done then you're very sure to achieve excellence.
After this seminar, I want to invite youngsters to google TARA LINPINSKI.
Tara Lipinski is the youngest person ever to win the Figure Skating World title, at the age of 14, and also the youngest person ever to win the Olympic gold medal in the individual ladies’ singles event, at the age of 15.
This is a brilliant example of excellence!
In an article published some months ago in Witsprouts Magazine, I wrote "for 1982 born Tara Lipinski, being the youngest World Skating Champion at 14 meant being a skater as early as age 3!"
She didn't just reach that height. She started roller skating at the age of 3 and at the age of 6 she started ice skating and has since then been engaged in untiring, rigorous training with pro coaches.
While other children are all around running after toys cars, Tara was developing herself for the Gold.
This is what I meant by investment. Putting all you have into what you want to achieve.
Once you can do this constantly, you're not far from reaching excellence.
So tonight I'm going to share these things with you which should be your watchword on your road to excellence:
1. things to avoid on your road to excellence.
2. ‎steps to arousing the excellence in you.
3. ‎A checklist for excellence mindshift

1. Avoid Mental Honeymoon.
We all know what honey moon is now. That period of rest that couples go through after all the stress of wedding.
Don’t let your brain go on recession, avoid over relaxing the brain. Always be on knowledge adventures. Your brain is capable, utilize it as much as possible.
Always find means of utilizing your brain. Don't just use your brain to process Mark Angel comedy and Twyse skits.
I'm telling you I love what Twyse is doing but then, you'll see that he's really using his brain to create those skits.

But you're not using your brain watching them.
I won't say you should stop watching but then you should watch with sense. Know when to stop.
And then see if you can even get an idea from his skits. And so on

2. Avoid the Dogma of Infallibility.
Some people's confidence is out of this world. You'll see them walking into the pit but they are still confidentially telling you to shut up and stop correcting them. They are right.
You should take care not to fall on the side of hyper-confidence. The fact is, like every other humans, you are not perfect–although you might be very good. You can make mistakes. You are not infallible. And so you should always lookout for your vulnerabilities and try as much as possible to improve on them.

3.Avoid the Danger of Under Estimation of Self.
If there’s are few things you should always remember, the fact that you are not too young to be whatever you want to become should be one of them. You are not inferior, you are not under-privileged. And in everything you do, you should be self-confident–be able to stand for your choices and defend your decisions.

4. Avoid Mono-Intellectualism.
Simply put, EXPLORE. Don’t limit your knowledge to a particular field. Explore. Try as much as possible to have as much knowledge of different fields as possible.

Secondly, I'll love to share with you four steps to arousing the excellence in you.
1.Seek Conscious self knowledge
You have to sit down first and study yourself. Who are you and what are you good at? Think deeply and reflect on your life so far. What traits have you discovered?

2. Engage in to Continuous Capacity Building.
Having discovered yourself, set up strategies to build up on your discoveries. Seek knowledge and digest informations that will help you become better at who you are and what you do

3. Set a Clear Vision.
Now that you’ve horned your skill in the perfect vocation for you, you’ll want to put up tasks to solve with those skills. Call it a goal, or a vision, or a mandate. You can also say it’s your calling. Non matter what you call it, all that matters is that you set out to it and, as much as possible, remain blind to all distractions until you’ve achieved that vision.

4. Continuous Character Development.
While on the journey to achieving your goals and reaching your vision, one more thing that will boost you is your character. While capacity building is about equipping yourself with skills and knowledge to enable you to do what you want to do, character development is about developing yourself in everything from adopting the right mindsets to managing human relations. In short, it’s developing your personality.

As John Maxwell puts it in The 360° Leader, “When you equip people, you teach them how to do a job. When you develop them, you are helping them to improve as individuals.”
So, you have to develop your personality to suite the path to success
Our time is far spent but I'll love to share the last thing for tonight

Now, a checklist for excellence mindshift;
1. Divorce Passivity and get Married to Activity.
We are all prone to accepting life just as it comes. Whatever life throws at us is welcome.
We get complacent. We embrace mediocrity. But this should not be so.
You should stop being passive to life and take active participation in the course of living. Arise and shine.

2. ‎Learn through Mystery
You must have heard about Robert Greene. The man who wrote the popular book 48 Laws of Power.

Have your heard of it?
So I'm currently reading another one of his powerful books title Mastery.
In it he told stories of great leaders from ages past to the present moment, from Jesus to even Donald Trump.
They were able to be the master they are in their craft because at a point in their life, they decided to sit down as students to life and master their arts.
Same principle is applicable to you. To achieve excellence you must be willing to sit and learn deeply about what you want to be excellent at.

3. ‎Adapt to the Changing World – Match your Aspirations with Opportunity.
It's no longer news to you that our world is changing at the speed of light.
The things that we use to adore about 5 years ago, we no longer adore now. There are new things now. And it's also sure that the things we're currently adoring now would go extinct in the coming years.
The fact is that technology is taking over and this new reality is creating new opportunities.
To achieve excellence in this new age, you have to learn to match your aspirations with the emerging opportunities that the new world presents.

4. Explore your passions and build excellence on them.
Earlier, I stated that you should discover yourself. This is another area where you need that exercise.
Judging by what you've discovered about yourself, draw out a passion and start working on it.
You might not have enough time to work on it fully but just work on it on the side for now

I'm very sure that with the little I've said, you're very intelligent and you'll definitely make do with it

Some questions were asked by the student
Tomide a 300lv student ask this Questions : sir if I discover something about myself and am developing it & building myself towards excellence. If nothing is coming from the end even though I have been doing it for about 3 years,  what do u suggest?
Monetary to be precise

Mr tayo said:First ask yourself, "Did I actually have a strategy for making money from what I've been doing?"
It's one thing to be doing something out of passion, it's another thing to know how to make money from your passion with marketing and promotion etc. As long as you don't make it a goal to make money, you won't make money. The money won't just come.
Also,
Toyin a 300lv student asked that: I am into musical world, I can play guitar but not a professional, lately I discover that my interest is shifted to sax and trumpet
I lost interest because am not getting better even after the practicing hard
I have been investing on guitar since 2013 but still am not a pro. If I start Sax am afraid I can't go with the three and I don't want to be a jack of all trade. But the truth is I already lost interest in guitar
Pls your suggestions sir?
A friend who read the seminar message told me to ask this for him?

Mr tayo:What do you mean by you're not a pro? Are there any chords that you can't play, or are you having problems with getting the keys right?
I want you to know that it's very okay for you to give up on guitar in such cases as this if your interest is now with something else. By the way, the little knowledge of guitar might eventually come in handy in sax and trumpet.
So, I'll suggest you focus on your sax and trumpet for now and invest yourself in it. Learn to be a pro in it.
But also try to check yourself. If you find out that you're again loosing interest in sax and trumpet then you might have to look inward. Its a privilege to have him with us
